Executive leadership, career success, and the journey up the corporate ladder are all steeped in practices, assumptions and expectations of the white dominant culture. In order to navigate this social conditioning and take control of the leadership journey from a place of power, we must create safe spaces for leaders whom identify as people of color, that centers on their experience.

This workshop is designed to provide early career people of color professionals with the foundational skills necessary for success in the early stages of their careers. Participants will gain a better understanding of the corporate culture (past, present and future), communication techniques, customer services techniques to develop trust and position yourself for promotion with internal colleagues, leadership essentials and explore socialized patterns that can be obstacles for people of color. The workshop will lead each participant to an increased awareness of their unique workplace strengths, values and career goals, as they develop their own development plan for today and for their future.

The workshop will be conducted virtually over a period of 4-hours each day for 2-days and will be led by experienced facilitators who have a proven track record of success and experience.

Overall program objectives are to provide you with the ability to:

  1. Develop a leadership philosophy that will serve as their “vision statement” in their career
  2. Practice behaviors and techniques that allow them to be intentional with their emotions and use their voice in workplace situations
  3. Increase awareness of corporate culture and practices, leading to operating from a place of awareness and choice
  4. Enhance their community of support and developmental accountability
  5. Perform a gap analysis of their current vs. future state
  6. Identify core leadership values and how to stay true to them throughout your career
